Who Would Bake Cookies In This Heat And Why???

Why... on the eve of receiving my nephew and niece for a week, well the smiles will be worth it! I am so looking forward to there visit. These cookies get the most positive comments of all the cookies I make and I know they love them too. So why, I ask you, mess with perfection?

I found the original recipe on a Ghirardelli chocolate chip bag and it was almost perfect as written but, as with most recipes I only made the first batch exactly following the directions. Since then I have made my own modifications with great success! Now the recipe doesn't vary much with the exception of some swapping of the additional ingredients like walnuts for pecans for example. Like I said "Why mess with perfection!"

These are simply the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had!
