Live Switched Broadcasts
Below is an example of a live switched broadcast. Many videos of the shows I switched live are not readily available, hence the reason my portfolio is a little thin in this area. But for many years we would switch 5 to 10 live broadcasts out to 150 - 450 stores coast-to-coast per week. There was a certain energy, perhaps from being nervous, always present during these live broadcasts not found in a lot of the pre-recorded programs I edited. The studio I helped design at Fred Meyer and the one I designed and managed at OfficeMax are based on the GlobeCaster system very similar to the Tricaster used in many studios today. They rely on green screen technology and virtual sets which I and my team designed in After Effects and Photoshop.
